Questions and answers

What is MindShift?

MindShift is an AI reflection journal for Android, made in India. It asks you one reflective question a day, reads what you write, and replies with what’s really going on, a mind shift from the philosophy that fits you (Stoicism, Dharma, Sufism or Ikigai), and one small step for today. On Google Play it’s called MindShift: AI Mentor & Journal.

How does MindShift work?

A short quiz matches you to a philosophy. Then, each day, you get one question built from what you’ve written before. You reply in a line or a page; your mentor replies with an insight, a mind shift and one small step. Over time, MindShift shows you the thinking patterns you keep repeating.

Who is MindShift for?

People who think more than they act: who overthink, replay conversations or get stuck before decisions. It also suits people who’ve tried journaling but stall at the blank page, and anyone drawn to timeless wisdom, from Marcus Aurelius to the Bhagavad Gita, who wants a short, private daily habit of reflection.

Is MindShift free?

Yes. MindShift is currently free to download and use on Google Play.

Is MindShift available on iPhone?

Not yet. MindShift is available on Android through Google Play. The website quiz works on any phone or computer.

Which philosophies does MindShift use?

Four: Stoicism (for overthinking, worry and what you can’t control), Dharma, drawing on the Bhagavad Gita (for confusion, direction and duty versus desire), Sufism (for loneliness, heartbreak and feeling empty), and Ikigai (for burnout, distraction and discipline).

How do I know which philosophy is right for me?

Take the free quiz. It names your mind pattern, for example the Overthinker, and shows which philosophy fits you right now, with a first mind shift and one small step.

How long does it take each day?

About five minutes. One sentence is enough for a useful reply, and you can write more whenever you want.

Can MindShift remind me to reflect?

Yes. You can set a daily reminder at a time that suits you.

What if my thoughts feel too heavy to carry alone?

Talk to someone you trust, and if you ever feel unsafe, contact your local emergency number right away.

Is MindShift the same as MindShift CBT?

No. MindShift is not affiliated with MindShift CBT, a separate app by a different developer. MindShift at startmindshift.com is an AI reflection journal from India, built around four philosophies.

How is MindShift different from ChatGPT?

A general chatbot waits for you to start and is built for every kind of task. MindShift is built for one thing: a daily reflection practice. It starts the conversation with a question chosen from what you’ve shared before, replies in a consistent structure (insight, mind shift, one small step), and keeps your entries as a private journal with patterns over time.

Is my journal private?

MindShift’s Google Play listing states that entries are stored securely and readable only by you, and that data is encrypted in transit. For full details, read the Privacy Policy.

How do I sign in?

With your phone number and a one-time code. No password to remember.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. You can request deletion of your data. Email themindshift.systems@gmail.com if you need help.

What languages does MindShift support?

English, for now.

What is the 2AM Thought Untangler?

A free, one-off tool from MindShift for the moment a thought won’t let go at night. It helps you separate what you can act on from what you can set down. Try it at go.startmindshift.com/untangler.
