About MindShift

About MindShift, the AI reflection journal

Every generation had its mentor. MindShift brings that kind of guidance to an ordinary Tuesday, one question at a time.

MindShift in one paragraph

MindShift (on Google Play as MindShift: AI Mentor & Journal) is an AI reflection journal for Android, made in India by MindShift Labs. Each day it asks you one reflective question, built from what you’ve written before. You reply in a line or a page, and your AI mentor answers with what’s really going on, a “mind shift” from the philosophy that fits you (Stoicism, Dharma, Sufism or Ikigai), and one small step for today. Over time it shows you the thinking patterns you repeat. It’s free to download, and it’s built for self-reflection, clarity and better decisions.

What MindShift does

MindShift is built for people who think more than they act: who replay conversations, put off decisions, brace for things that may never happen, or wait for clarity that doesn’t come. It turns that thinking into a short daily practice.

  1. One question a day. Picked from what you’ve shared before, so it’s always relevant and never a blank page.
  2. Just reply. A single line is enough, like texting a friend. Write more when you want to.
  3. Your mentor replies. Three parts: what’s really going on, a mind shift from your philosophy, and one small step for today.
  4. See your patterns. The loops you keep repeating, such as putting off hard conversations or worrying what others think, and how they change as you do.

The four philosophies

When you start, a short quiz names your mind pattern (for example, the Overthinker) and matches you to the philosophy that fits you right now. Your mentor then guides you through that lens.

PhilosophyCore ideaHelps with
StoicismMaster what's yours. Release what isn't.Overthinking, worry, what you can't control
DharmaAct rightly. Let go of the fruit.Confusion, direction, duty versus desire
SufismTurn inward. What you seek is already there.Loneliness, heartbreak, feeling empty
IkigaiFind your reason. Then show up for it, daily.Burnout, distraction, discipline

What a day with MindShift looks like

Say it’s a Tuesday, you’re on the Stoic path, and today’s question is “What did you avoid today?” You write: “Asking my manager about the raise. I keep saying ‘next week’. I don’t want to look ungrateful.”

Your mentor notices that “next week” has come up several times this month, and that the fear isn’t really about the answer; it’s about how asking makes you look. The mind shift: their answer isn’t yours to control; whether you ask is. The small step: send one line today asking for 15 minutes on Thursday.

That’s the whole loop. Five minutes, most days, and a growing picture of how you think.

Who MindShift is for

  • People who overthink, replay things or get stuck before decisions.
  • People who’ve tried journaling but stall at the blank page.
  • People drawn to timeless wisdom, from Marcus Aurelius to the Bhagavad Gita, who want to apply it to real life rather than just read about it.
  • Anyone who wants a short, private daily habit of reflection.
